– WOW. the Heidelberg Project in Detroit is jaw dropping in real life! created in 1986 by artist Tyree Guyton and his Grandpa Sam as an outdoor art environment on the city’s east side. the Heildelberg Project is part of a political protest as Tyree’s childhood neighborhood began to deteriorate after the riots of 1967. their mission is to inspire people to appreciate and use artistic expression to enrich lives and to improve the social and economic health of their greater community.
through art you can improve the lives of people and neighborhoods. i believe this. if you go to Detroit, please go see this!
