– on La Brea the other day there were just some great colorful things to see. it’s no secret to those who know me that i love some interesting vintage finds and also a good wall mural

– in Venice Beach area, also spotted some great artistic gems! color and color, oh and a selfie wall!

– the last photo in the post, i was particularly excited to stumble upon – it is by the Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto. he has been interacting visually with the urban environment under the name of Vhils since his days as a prolific graffiti writer in the early 2000s. he does a groundbreaking carving technique – which forms the basis of his Scratching the Surface Series. his work has been hailed as one of the most compelling approaches to art created in the street in the last decade. super cool to see in person!
